Itinerary
Day 1|Arrival in Zhangjiajie | Welcome to Hunan
Depending on your arrival time, you may take a relaxed walk around the local area or enjoy a meal featuring Hunan’s distinctive regional flavors.
Day 2|Zhangjiajie Grand Canyon & Glass Bridge – Yellow Dragon Cave
A highlight of the visit is the Zhangjiajie Glass Bridge, suspended high above the canyon. Cross the transparent walkway for an exhilarating view of the landscape below, weather and operating conditions permitting.
In the afternoon, continue to Yellow Dragon Cave, an extensive limestone cave system featuring impressive stalactites, stalagmites, and underground chambers. Follow the designated paths to discover the cave’s remarkable formations, with sections of the visit potentially including an underground boat ride, depending on the operating arrangements.
After sightseeing, return to your hotel and enjoy a relaxing evening.

Day 3|Zhangjiajie National Forest Park | Ten-Mile Gallery, Yuanjiajie & Tianzi Mountain
Begin at Ten-Mile Gallery, a scenic valley framed by unusual rock formations and lush greenery. Enjoy the landscape on foot or take the sightseeing tram if you prefer to reduce walking.
Continue to the Bailong Elevator, an extraordinary outdoor elevator built against the cliffside. The ride takes you up to the mountain area, providing convenient access to the park’s higher viewpoints.
Next, explore Yuanjiajie, famous for its towering stone pillars and panoramic views. The landscape is often associated with the floating mountains featured in Avatar. Follow the designated paths to admire the formations from several viewpoints.
Later, visit Tianzi Mountain, where expansive views stretch across layers of sandstone peaks and forested valleys. Weather permitting, the changing light and drifting mist can create particularly striking scenery.
After the visit, travel to Zhangjiajie downtown and check in at your hotel.

Day 4|Tianmen Mountain – Drive to Furong Ancient Town
Enjoy sweeping views of the surrounding mountains and valleys, and discover Tianmen Cave, the famous natural arch that gives the mountain its name. The route may also include sections of the cliffside walkways, depending on weather, access, and your preferred level of activity.
After your mountain visit, leave Zhangjiajie and travel by private vehicle to Furong Ancient Town, a historic settlement known for its spectacular waterfall and traditional buildings built along the hillside.
Upon arrival, check in and enjoy some free time to explore the town. If time allows, take a walk through its stone lanes and admire the waterfall area as the town begins to light up in the evening.

Day 5|Furong Ancient Town – Drive to Fenghuang Ancient Town
After your visit, travel by private vehicle to Fenghuang Ancient Town, also known as Phoenix Ancient Town. Upon arrival, check in and begin exploring this historic riverside destination.
Stroll along the old streets and admire the traditional wooden houses lining the Tuojiang River. Take time to discover small shops and local specialties, or simply enjoy the atmosphere along the waterfront.
In the evening, the town’s illuminated buildings and reflections on the river create a memorable setting for a leisurely walk.

Day 6|Fenghuang Ancient Town – Return to Zhangjiajie & Departure
Enjoy a Tuojiang River boat experience for a different perspective of the traditional riverside houses and stone bridges. Continue to the Former Residence of Shen Congwen, dedicated to the renowned Chinese writer who was born in Fenghuang, and learn more about his life and connection to the town.
Then visit Rainbow Bridge, a historic landmark spanning the river and offering attractive views of the surrounding old town.
After sightseeing, travel by private vehicle back to Zhangjiajie for your onward flight or train. As the return journey takes several hours, the departure schedule should allow sufficient time for the drive and check-in procedures.
